Frederick & Alma (May) Broerman Family

Back Row: David, Cynthia, Kristina and Roberta

Front Row: Frederick and Alma

After graduation from high school, I (Alma) spent 17 months with the Sisters of the Precious Blood as a postulant and a novice. During this time they introduced me to college classes. Without this, I probably never would have gone to college.

After leaving, it took me six more years to earn my Bachelors Degree and three more years to earn my Masters Degree. I taught 23 years in the St. Henry School District, Julianne High School, Edison Community College, and Greenville City Schools. I earned an Associate Degree from Miami Jacobs and opened an income tax office for 30 years.

Fred is a 1956 graduate of Marion Local High School. He earned an Associate Degree from Miami Jacobs and Edison. He was a full partner in our tax office, making sure that all tax returns were completed correctly.

We have four children, all who have earned  their Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Cynthia, David, and Kristina are teachers. Roberta is a Registered Sanitarian with a local health department.

I just want to thank the many Sisters who encouraged me and were my friends.

We would like to recognize our parents who gave us our Catholic faith. Raymond and Alma (Bertke) Broerman from Casella, Frank and Cecilia (Voskhul from Maria Stein) May from Versailles. Our siblings: Daniel Broerman, Irene Fink, Benita Rindler, Rose Bednarcik, Edgar Broerman, Lewis May, Arthur May, Cathryn Knapke.
